This is a case about Mr Tan Chee Ming who visited a clinic at Taman Muda, Cheras on Thurday 9.00 p.m. because of fever. After the visit he took the medicine as prescript. Immediately, his felt itchy and his face started swollen.
Within half an hour he went back to the clinic with the swollen face. The doctor gave him an injection and collected the small red pill from Mr Tan which the doctor said was too strong for him. When Mr Tan, collecting his new medicine, the clinic wanted to charge him another RM25 for the new medicine and he refused to pay because he though that this is not his responsibility to pay the bill. So he was denial the new medicine.
Jenice Lee who is the Director of DAP Teratai Community Centre claimed that Mr Tan never complaint for stomach problem but the doctor in fact given him a gastric medicine as well. He was treated a fever, the doctor had given him four different medicine which are vitamin, gastric, panadol and the fever pill (red pill which was returned to the doctor). She claimed that this doctor not only careless but very immoral because of force ‘selling’ of the medicine to the patient.
As DAPsY International Secretary she urge all the people who visited to clinic must know the name of the doctor and ask the doctor to explain the prescriptions if they have any doubts. If there is any case, patient can always call to the Kementerian Kesihatan to file a complaint: 03-8883 3470 or visit the website at www.moh.gov.my .
