There are 2 problematic issues in Teratai inherited from the previous government. One is the Cemetery in Bukit Permai II, located at Bukit Teratai; the other one is the 14 food stalls that built on the road reserve opposite the Taman Muda Market. The second one is straight forward and I have almost settled.
The proposed cemetery is located at Bukit Permai II next to a flat and double-story housing area. I only aware of this project when the machine moved into the reserve land and clean up the area.
I had called for an emergency meeting with the resident. During the meeting, we had heard the explanation from the MPAJ Perancang Bandar En. Awang and a representative from Pejabat Tanah, but both report were conflicting and dissatisfying.
Last month, I was only given half day notice by the Pejabat Tanah to attend a meeting regarding the cemetery. I cancelled my appointment and rush to this meeting. During the meeting, I told them about complaint from the resident, but it seems like those officers had made the decision already and my concern were not discussed. Without my approval or agreement, the Pegawai Daerah move on and assumed that everybody agree with this project. They also promised to provide a complete plan in 2 weeks. As usual nothing had happened after 2 weeks.
Last week, I was given 1.5 day notice with the plan for the next meeting. I went there with 5 residents.
The minute I step into the tea break room, I was called by the Pengarah Tanah Puan Hamsinah; The minute I step in her room, a ‘boom shell was exploded’.
Puan Hamsinah scolded me for bring the people into this meeting! She said “ Mengapa nak bawa penduduk? Mereka kacau sahaja”! I was stunned. My anger suddenly rose to 60% and ask her what is bothering her, because everything we discussed is about the resident? They have all the rights to voice up!
I don’t understand why she can invite YB Kassim who is the ADUN for Lembah Jaya and Penolong YB Iskandar but cannot invite the resident?! Besides, there is nothing to do with both YB Cempaka and YB Lembah Jaya. How this puan can treat the resident like nothing?!
During the meeting, I kept arguing the plan. Sadly to say that only 1 out of 5 residents are willing to speak out for me. The rest of the officers were still inherited the old custom of meeting from BN by saying ‘ya’ or keeping quite only.
(To continue....)
After the meeting, 2 of the residents blaming me for not able to stop the project…. I asked them “why are you not speaking up in the meeting? ” This is a very terrible habit by bluffing outside the meeting and not speaking in the meeting.
Yesterday (Thursday) I invited the Puan Hamsinah and the officers from MPAJ to go to the proposed cemetery site to discuss about the access road and other matter. More than 20 residents, MPAJ officers and I were waited Puan Hamsinah, the Queen of Pejabat Tanah for 45 MINUTES!
Some rain drops already fall on my face, I saw a Pejabat Tanah pajero car stop at the road side, the Queen was sitting inside. After watching for a while, the car move forward. Some officers from MPAJ get closer to the car, some gossip there. I was standing and watching….
More and more rain drops now, I saw the pajero move away and leaving the place. I quickly called the Pegawai Daerah Hj Zainal and told him about the attitude of the Queen. After hanging up the phone, I quickly called Puan Hamsina, the Queen of Pejabat Tanah, I scolded her and want her to turn back in 5 minutes, otherwise, I think the people do not need her to work in Pejabat Tanah anymore!
This is the most arrogant officer that I ever seen. I don’t know why she is scared of meeting the people. If she is doing everything right, then I don’t think it is a problem for meeting the people, unless….
Since I was not respected by this officer, I don’t think I have to respect her anymore. She turned back in 5 minutes and telling me that there is no problem to open an access road (bluff..).. Anyway, it is too late; I already rose by my anger to 80% because of her bad and disrespectful attitude.
Everybody take the opportunity to scold her, to explain and telling her all the stories and as usual, this Queen had closed her ear.
Since there were so many complaints, I decided to hold the project and set up a committee to settle this issue.
I don’t bother she like it or not, I think the bosses (the resident) were there and instructed them to do so. Nevertheless, all these officers are paid by our bosses, without the people, without them. The message is clear.
