After 2 days national congress a new set of Centrel Executive Commitee was elected. I congradulate those who get elected and all those who speak up during the 2 days congress.
There are 20 people were elected as CEC and 10 new CECs were appointed. In fact, I felt a little bit uncomfortable with the appointed CEC not because of their ability but their area of representation. 8 out of 30 CEC are from Penang, 5 out of 30 are from Perak. So 8+5 =13, almost half of the CEC member are from the Northern part of peninsular Malaysia.
As a national body for the party, I think there shall be more representative from other states rather than concentrating the power at the northern part of Malaysia. I don't deny that some of the co-op member are capable but it doesn't mean that the delegate from other states cannot perform as a national leader.
Although there are more new faces being co-op into CEC, there was no increased in the diversity of the CEC. What I meant was we did not raise the number of Malay, Indian and women representative in this new CEC.

I attended almost every congress and convention since I join the party in year 2000. I would say that in this congress we have many quality members who participated the debate which I felt very impressive.
I think we should keep on the good debate and I hope to see more member especially women to participate the debate. Taking part in debate is part of the process to mainstream the women delegate.
